The Purpose of this Society
is to bring into one organization the reputable and legally qualified doctors of medicine of Boulder County, to promote the science and art of medicine, the betterment of public health, and the unity, harmony and welfare of the medical profession.
Community Services Available through the Medical Society
Served by physicians interested in educational programs for service clubs, civic organizations, church clubs or groups, schools, health care facilities and support groups. (Advance notice of meetings is needed.)

Officers of the Boulder County Medical Society
CURRENT PRESIDENT: SCOTT REPLOGLE, MD
Dr. Replogle is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He graduated from Princeton University undergrad and then Rush University Medical School in Chicago and completed his residencies in surgery and plastic surgery at the CU Med Ctr. and the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). He practiced in Denver for two years and has been in Boulder County since 1985. He was president of BCMS in 1990. Dr. Replogle’s primary clinical interest is in providing quality plastic surgery procedures in an office and minimal cost facility using local anesthetic techniques including IV sedation not requiring an anesthesiologist. He was an early proponent of providing surgical services without any government or third party payers.
Dr. Replogle has also been active in the regional plastic surgery society as well as the state medical society, CMS, where he has served on the board of directors and committees including the Council on Legislation. He was also involved with the planning and formation of Avista Hospital, did the first surgical procedure there, and served as the chairman of the surgery dept. for the first year and a half as well as serving on the board of directors of BCMS for several years.

JOHN OGLE, MD, TREASURER
Dr. Ogle is a Board Certified Emergency Physician w/ Centura and an Air Force Command Flight Surgeon. Colonel Ogle has 35 yrs military experience and concurrently serves as the Wyoming State Air Surgeon. A distinguished graduate from the USAF Academy (1985), John flew for 5 years then earned an MD and Masters of Public Health in Biostatistics w/ honors from the Univ. of N. Carolina (1995). Following EM residency at Stanford University, he attended as faculty before returning to Longmont.
John deploys frequently on humanitarian and combat missions with the Air National Guard; he ran a field hospital in devastated New Orleans after Katrina and deployed to Iraq (2007) and Afghanistan (2009). Military decorations include the Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Antarctic Service Medal, Governor’s Award and Outstanding Flight Surgeon of the Year.
A past president of BCMS and chair of the IT committee, Dr. Ogle is a widely published, outspoken critic of opacity in medical economic transactions. He’s worked for decades to improve health care quality through electronic medical record access and billing transparency. He’s passionate about improving near real-time data exchange across clinical networks during unscheduled encounters. John enjoys snowboarding, aviation, music and (well-behaved) dogs.

JUDY LADD, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Judy Ladd has been the Executive Director of BCMS since 1993, coming from a background in medical and dental office management and financial marketing. She considers it a privilege working with physicians and their staff in Boulder County and strives to make BCMS an organization that advocates for physicians of every specialty and working in various practice settings. Through direction by the Board of Directors, BCMS serves as a communications hub to disseminate local, state and national medical information and to bring physicians together to discuss the changing health care landscape in our area.
